Emirates ID is an identity card for all residence who are living in United Arab Emirates and UAE Nationals. It is a document which contains:

15-digit identity number which is unique for everyone
An electronic chip with the holder's personal data
The holder's photo on the card

The emirates ID can be used in several transactions such as phone and internet, paying utility bills, paying fines, and registering vehicles. For normal residence holders, the emirates id validity is for 1 year, 2 year or 3 year. For Golden Residency holders, the emirates id will be valid for 10 year.
